To better understand the use of Embatuff thermal liner and pharmaceutical thermal liners, we must first establish the factors that affect cosmetic stability
Temperature, humidity and solar radiation in the conservation of cosmetics
As regards both transportation and storage of beauty products, these should always be kept cool and dry, at a temperature of between 5 and 23 degrees.
When the temperature is too high, the formula can break down and become less effective, especially in the case of fresh cosmetics that contain vitamins (Vitamin C), organic cosmetics and products containing probiotics.
At more than 37 degrees, collagen loses its structure and effectiveness for skin, and retinol, one of the key active ingredients, should not be exposed to temperatures that exceed 21-22 degrees, in order to maintain its stability and functionality.
An excessively high temperature can cause full body oils to spill liquid outside of the container due to an increase in density.
In the case of biocosmetics, balms containing keratin should not exceed 42ºC, which is its melting point, and lip balms containing cocoa butter should be stored at less than 34ºC to prevent them from melting.
Cosmetics should not be stored at temperatures below 5ºC because the active ingredients may crystallize and become inactive. If stored at an excessively low temperature, clay masks can dry out and will no longer be usable.
High levels of humidity and a temperature of around 30ºC favour the growth of bacterial or fungal microorganisms, even in cosmetics containing preservatives.
Solar radiation affects omega 3 oils and antioxidant vegetable extracts. Any product containing active and live ingredients, whether they are 100% natural or packaged using organic materials, should be stored at cooler temperatures and in dark places for maximum effect.
Isothermal solutions for transporting make-up and lotions
In both sea and air transport, external factors such as temperature and humidity can fluctuate significantly, influencing the quality of beauty products.
Both Embatuff thermal liner, a thermal liner for the interior of containers, and Embacover, our isothermal insulator for palletized products, help to maintain the ideal conditions and offer the following benefits:
- Thermal protection: optimal temperature control for your shipments.
- Protection against humidity: isolates cargo from container rainfall and reduces the relative humidity of the cargo.
- Odour and dirt isolation: single-use cover which prevents the spread of odours and avoids the need to wash containers afterwards.
- Easy to put on.
- Cost - saving
